WHO ARE THE TOP 806 BASKETBALL PLAYERS WE ARE THANKFUL FOR??

Guys, we are already in District play for all of our teams in the 806 and some diatrict races will come down to the wire! We also have teams like Monterey, Lubbock-Cooper and Amarillo who are in the top five in the rankings across the state.

Let's not forget about New Home, who's ranked number one in Texas in the jungle; I mean 2A's classification that holds a plethora of great teams! Here are some players that we should be thankful for getting to see and watch this season in 806 girls basketball!

1 PATTON PINKINS

FRENSHIP TIGERS(2025)

Patton is a baller! The entire 806 didn't know too much about him as he was a move-in in the summer as his dad coaches at Texas Tech and he's a very quiet young man. But his game.. It speaks for itself! He has double-digit offers already in the 2025 class including Texas Tech and had 42 points last Tuesday in the Tigers' win over Trinity Christian, 100-96 in double overtime. He will become one of the top five recruits in the Nation in his class soon; We are just thankful we get to see it!

2 ADDIE STEWART

NEW HOME LADY LEOPARDS(2023)

Addie Stewart (I got the name right bro) doesn't get mentioned a lot due to her playing alongside a couple of super players in Addy Burns and Kelby Baccus on her team, but she holds her own on the court and every time I see her play she's either making clutch shots, playing tough defense or facilitating to her teammates. I really enjoy seeing Stewart play; I know New Home is thankful for that too!

3 KIERAN ELLIOTT

TRINITY CHRISTIAN LIONS(2023)

Kieran is a double-double walking every night! Then there are games like Tuesday against Frenship where Kieran had 39 points and double-digit boards again. He is a big time DI player in my eyes, and hopefully he gets his due. I got to really look at him at the TABC showcase and he put up 30-balls all weekend against the best competition. His time is now..

4 AMBROSIA COLE

MONTEREY LADY PLAINSMEN(2026)

Ambrosia! She has had the spotlight on her since the 7th-grade at Evans where they won back-to-back city championships before heading to Monterey; the number one ranked team in Texas in 5A! Cole has embraced and handled the pressure of playing with great players like Jaelyn Morrison and Texas Tech 2023 Commit, Kelly Mora with ease and is learning and getting better every game. She will be one of the hottest guards in the Nation in her 2026 class pretty fast!

5 KJ THOMAS

RANDALL RAIDERS (2024)

KJ Thomas has one of the purest jumpers I've got to see in the last ten years of covering 806 athletes! He can put up a triple-double, or he can rack up 50 every night when he wants to. The 10th-ranked Randall Raiders are thankful for that, I'm sure! The most likeable trait KJ has to me is the humbleness and want-to. He will never be satisfied and that should scare his opponents the next couple of years.

6 PEYTON NORTH

LUBBOCK-COOPER LADY PIRATES (2023)

Peyton North: A player I did not have on my radar before the season has really stepped up for the fifth-ranked Lady Pirates this season! In their win over #1 Monterey last week, Peyton scored 25 points and all were needed as the Lady Pirates won by three points. She can go Coast-to-Coast, hit three's and attack the basket and finish through contact. Keep an eye out for her! We all know Coach Lovorn is thankful for her clutchability!

7. Jalen Braziel- Frenship (2023)

8. Azaylee Santos- Floydada (2024)

9. McKenzie Smith- Amarillo (2023)

10Kemper Jones- Canyon (2024)

11Amaree Garmon- Lubbock-Cooper (2024)

12Jack Robinson- Trinity (2024)

13Majik Esquivel- Lubbock-Cooper (2024)
