After another eventful week in Texas High School Football and dealing with mass cancellations across the state, we have some more teams that have moved into the rankings for the 806.
In 6A, we have no one in the rankings as we only have one team in 6A. In 5A DI, Coronado has opened up the season with two impressive wins over Frenship and previously 3rd-ranked Lubbock-Cooper to garner them moving into the 5A DI rankings at #9. Big shoutout to Coach Ramos and his defense who secured the Mustangs’ first shutout since 2012 Friday with their 28-0 win!
In 5A DII, the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates are ranked #9 as well, moving six spots down from # 3. In 4A DI, Canyon’s Eagles are ranked #6 and are really thumping their opponents along the way. Props to Coach Bryant on picking up his 150th victory this season too. We don’t have a team in 4A DII in the rankings currently.
In 3A DI, Shallowater’s Mustangs are ranked #5 and are trending up as I don’t see a loss for them the rest of the regular season.
In 3A DII, Canadian beat Hoguton, Kansas, 52-14 Friday and remain #1 while Spearman is ranked #6 and Idalou is ranked #9.
In 2A DI, Post remains #3 in the state while their district rival, Sundown, is now ranked #10 in the state after their impressive play this season. In 2A DII, Wellington is ranked #3, Wheeler is ranked #6 and Vega is ranked #10. As you can see, we have a lot of teams playing some good football in the 806 right now!
