SATURDAY MORNING HUDDLE: HEREFORD IMPRESSES, SHALLOWATER GETS FIRST WIN

Week four is over in the 806 and it left us with some more clarity on teams along with some huge games coming in week five! Congrats to the teams that got their first win on the season and those that have stayed undefeated! Here is a recap of the weekend!

LUBBOCK-COOPER DOMINATED WF RIDER

The Pirates are 2-2 on the season, but are two points away from being 4-0! Lubbock-Cooper showed glimpses of what they could be Thursday in their exceptional performance against Wichita Falls Rider; who was previously undefeated and at home in their final matchup with the Pirates since their school is closing down after this year.

Lubbock-Cooper's Jayden Hibbler had 134 yards rushing and Jackson Austin had 110 yards rushing as well in their don't win. Can the Pirates keep it going as district play starts for 2-5A DI next week? Well, if you got Coach Chip Darden leading the way, of course they can.

ESTACADO ROUTS THE LOBOS WITH SCARY SECOND HALF

The Matadors remained unblemished on the season with a 62-9 win over Levelland Friday and they got off to a slow start in the process, going into the halftime tilt with a 20-9 lead. After the break, however, Estacado flipped the switch and scored 42 points while holding the Lobos scoreless the rest of the game. Bobby Ross, William Blaylock II, Cedric Ross, Darrius Alexander, Deeondric Green and others performed greatly in the contest and pushed Estacado's record to 4-0 on the season.

THE BEST OF THE REST

Roosevelt had a great shutout performance in their win over Slaton, 30-0. How about Shallowater, Tahoka and Coronado getting their first wins on the season as well! Shallowater's Kouper Boyd had 30 carries for 286 yards and three touchdowns in the Mustangs' win over Greenwood, 38-28.

Sunray also won 65-0 over West Texas as Armando Lujan had 470 yards of total offense and nine total touchdowns! Now, don't forget this is coming off of Lujan being named 2A Quarterback of the week in the state for week three! Gruver scored 61 points in their win over Highland Park while Panhandle put up 65 in their win over River Road. Oh yeah, Lubbock-Christian scored 96 points in their win over Waco Reicher.. Yes, 96 points!

Hereford was on their way to a win against Tascosa, leading 26-14 in the fourth quarter and West Plains was ahead of Palo Duro, 14-7 very late in the third quarter when both were called due to weather delays. So both of the contests will go down as...No contests.

Plainview is still undefeated after their 30-24 win over Dumas, who is looking promising as Coach Dunnam has a young squad that is growing up very quickly! New Home remained undefeated while knocking Floydada off the porch of undefeated teams with a 38-7 victory.

Here are all the scores from the 806 week four tilt below!
