MORA, CHAVEZ AND GARLAND POWER PLAINSMEN TO VICTORY OVER BULLDOGS FOR 4TH-STRAIGHT WIN

The Monterey Lady Plainsmen went into a tough environment and grabbed a key victory before their thanksgiving break with a 100-71 win over the Plainview Bulldogs on Tuesday. Junior forward Kelly Mora tallied 31 points, to go with 16 rebounds and five blocks while freshman guard Aaliyah Chavez had 45 points and 15 assists and broke the Monterey record for most three-pointers made in a single game with eleven; the previous record was held by Sydni Wagoner, who made eight in a game.

The surprise of the night had to be Junior guard Charli Garland and her great performance as she racked up 15 points in the game and shot an efficient %68 percent from the field on the night. Plainview’s Mady Williams had 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs and Katy Long led Plainview with 22 points on the night. Plainview is now 5-5 on the season and Monterey is now 7-2 as this is the first time a Jill Schneider-coached team has scored 100 points in a single game. Here is the video highlight below.
