It was a sloppy game, especially on Estacado's side as they had five fumbles and a ton of snap issues during the game. Defensively, the Matadors and Eagles played great. Canyon was down 13-2 with six minutes left in the third quarter and went on to score the last 14 points including the game-winning field goal with :03 seconds left from Elijah Smothermon to secure a 16-13 final for the Purple Family.
