HAPPY 4TH..HERE ARE THE TOP TEN PLAYERS IN THE 806 THAT WILL LIGHT IT UP IN 2021
Updated: Jul 15, 2021
Happy Fourth of July 806! Since this holiday is about patriotism and fireworks, let's take a look at ten. players in the 806 that are going to light it up on the field and against their opponents this season! Football is inching closer, ladies and gentlemen!
1. BRENEN THOMPSON- SPEARMAN LYNX: C/O 2022 ATH

Brenen had over 2,000 total yards and 25 touchdowns last season and is nearing a mega decision on where he will commit to college as he has narrowed his schools of interest down from 37 to 6! Thompson is scary on both sides of the ball and untouchable in space. This young man is going to light it up this fall for the Lynx and on the next couple of levels as well; consider us blessed to get to check him out!
2. MAJOR EVERHART- TASCOSA REBELS: C/O 2022 TB/FS

Major is just that: Major! he also will be a 2022 commit and has a plethora of teams including Penn State, Texas, Texas Tech and a host of others to choose from. Everhart did a lot of work on both sides of the ball last season and really will be counted on to do some more major things this fall for Coach Plunk. He may get close to 1,000 yards on the ground and have a few interceptions as well this fall; a huge season is coming for Major and the Rebels.
3. KOBIE MCKINZIE- LUBBOCK-COOPER PIRATES: C/O 2022 OLB

The number two ranked linebacker in the nation is gearing up for his final run with the Pirates on Woodrow road and from the looks of things, he is going to have an explosive season! McKinzie is a field disruptor when he is locked in and won't be blocked by one player on any play. He is also fast enough to cover any tailback coming out of the backfield or tight end as well. Kobie will anchor another championship run for the Pirates this season before he heads off to BOOMER SOONER!
4. MARC RAMIREZ- WELLINGTON SKYROCKETS: C/O 2022 RB/LB

Marc rushed for 2,542 yards and scored 30 times last season and had 133 tackles on the defensive side of the ball also in Wellington's State Semifinal run. He should put up those same type of numbers next year as well and Wellington is a title favorite again in 2021. Will this be the year they capitalize off of the hype and get to Jerry's World for the first time since 2013 when they won it all? Marc and the rest of his talented team will have a bunch to say about that.
5. LANDYN HACK-PANHANDLE PANTHERS: C/O 2023 QB

Landyn amassed over 2,100 total yards and 29 scores for the Panthers last season and will step into the quarterback role full time for Coach Dane Ashley this fall. Panhandle will make some noise and Hack will lead the way. He won the quarterback MVP at the 806 HSSC/Coach O showcase in June and also participated in a camp at Florida State this summer! Hack received his first offer today and more will come for the 6'4" 190 pound Quarterback; folks, he checks all the criteria to be a star!
6. JESS HOEL- ABERNATHY ANTELOPES: C/O 2022 QB

Jess Hoel is a pure dual-threat quarterback with tremendous upside. What I like about him is he doesn't mind working for what he wants: a shot at a Divison One school as a quarterback. Jess has been to multiple camps and is impressing everywhere he goes this summer but the true test will come in the season as the Antelopes will have another tough run in district and a tough first round playoff game out of the gate this season, maybe Spearman!
7. ISAIAH CRAWFORD- POST ANTELOPES: C/O 2023 LB/TB

Guys, don't be surprised to see Isaiah in the backfield some for Coach Pittman and the Post Antelopes This year! We know what the 2023 verbal commit to Baylor can do on the defensive side as he had 107 tackles as a Sophomore and some monstrous hits and sacks, but he is pretty shifty and fast on the offensive side too! People are expecting the Antelopes to fall off this season due to their loss of 18 starters off a team that went 15-1 and lost in the State Title game in 2A DI in 2020, but these guys are prideful and work their tails off... Let's see the season goes.
8. LARRY WILLIAMS- ESTACADO MATADORS: C/O 2022 LB/WR

Larry was first team all-district at linebacker last year with 129 tackles and three sacks, but the surprise here coming to the masses is his ability at the wide receiver position! He will be receiver one for the Mats' and will have a great season because he doesn't drop the ball at all! In the last couple of 7-on-7 qualifying tournaments Williams had 12 touchdown receptions! He has the clutch gene and will deliver for the Matadors and Coach Cluley this fall!
9. KAM REAGAN- CANYON EAGLES: C/O 2022 FB/LB

Kam will be counted to help lead with the transition of the team to Coach Todd Winfrey from Hall-Of-Famer Blake Bryant, who retired this summer. Reagan had 152 tackles and three sacks last year as the Eagles made it al the way to the 4A DI State Semifinal! Expect Kam to get some major looks this year because he will be lighting it up, all over the field!
10. JUAN ROMERO- DUMAS DEMONS: C/O 2022 WR

Juan the don, lol. He is a great young man and a dangerous wide receiver for the Dumas Demons and Coach Dunnam. He totaled 969 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns through the air for Dumas and was a first-team all district pick in 2020. Expect his numbers to go up this fall as he will be relied on even more while the young guys for Dumas get their footing early as we know they play late into November and early December!
