FOR PITTMAN AND POST’S ANTELOPES, CHAMPIONSHIP TIME IS NOW..

In 2018, I remember talking to Coach Pittman in Sundown before their loss to Sundown. He told me that his team was young and would suffer some growing pains, but the next two years would be really good for his team. Well, he wasn’t lieng as Post made it all the way to the State Championship game before they lost to Refugio, 28-7 in year one of the two year prediction.

Now as we look at their 2020 campaign there really should be an expectation, with all humbleness, to get back to Jerry’s World in December and have a rematch with the Bobcats or take on Shiner for a 2A DI title. What are some key factors in me saying that? Let’s take a look.

  • #1 NINETEEN STARTERS BACK!

Yes, that’s not a typo; Post has 19 starters returning back from their dangerous team last year. Players like Slayden Pittman, Taye Perez, Ashton Jefferson, Nathan McDaniel and Jayden Bustoz will lead the way with young ballers like Isaiah Crawford in the wings ready to contribute. This team is built for a title run again and there is a “team-first” environment out in Bold Gold Country as well.

  • #2 ELITE COACHING

From Coach Riker, (Juice) to Coach Crawford, and the man that runs the show; Coach Pittman, these coaches know how to get the best out of their team and they care deeply for their players on the gridiron and off the field as well.

  • #3 THE BOLD GOLD MACHINE

Post has one of the best fan bases and community support I have ever seen! They travel tremendously well and all the businesses in the city really rally behind the Bold Gold! It feels good to look up in the stands and your side is packed every game!

  • #4 WORK ETHIC

I went out and checked out a strength and conditioning practice and the Antelopes were sharp! Paying major attention to detail, going full-throttle in the weight room and attacking every conditioning drill as well. These guys in the building know what’s at stake this season and the Antelopes aren’t running from the task at hand.

Make sure you guys stay tuned to the Antelopes this season as they will be one of the few teams, if not the only team that will be playing for a title for the 806 this year in December!
