On the last Friday before the 2021 football season officially kicks off, I had the time to go check out Lubbock-Cooper and Coronado in their scrimmages against Midland and Sweetwater, respectively. Coronado, Coached by First-year head coach DJ Mann, looked very crisp on defense and offensively, Trevor Stephens had another game with over 100 receiving yards and a score.
Lubbock-Cooper's offense was clicking; the ones and the twos and of course their defense, led by Kobie Mckinzie and Kyler Jordan looked fast and efficient on the night. Here are some highlights of both of their scrimmages as well as an in-depth interview with Coach Darden of Lubbock-Cooper! It all gets real this Friday Night!
Also included is an all-access look at the Estacado Matadors in their scrimmage against Brownfield yesterday!
