CANADIAN IS BACK FOR ANOTHER TITLE RUN IN 3A DII.. THE MARATHON CONTINUES!
Canadian‘s Wildcats went on an another great championship run in 2020 and won the state title in 3A DII in the game of the year over Franklin, 35-34! Looking at their roster for this fall and yes, they have lost a lot. But…I would NEVER bet against Coach Koetting and the Wildcats. Here is my preview of their season!

Offensively, the Wildcats lost Hayze Hufstedler and a bunch of other next-level talent but here comes Camren Cavalier at the quarterback position for Canadian this fall. He has the pedigree and the coaches around him to get him ready to do exactly what Canadian’s former quarterbacks have done for their teams previously. Now, as we know in 3A and 2A mostly players play both ways and Canadian has a few guys that do that exceptionally. Jake Krehbiel, Corbin Throgmorton and Trace Mitchell will be key factors on both sides of the ball as their young team comes together early in the season.

Looking at their schedule and three games stick out to me: The Bushland game will be interesting and maybe high-scoring as both teams can light it up, their district game against Spearman; a game that we didn’t get to see last year due to Covid Protocols and their last game against Childress, which will be for the 3-3A DII district title. Don’t be surprised if Childress and Spearman meet twice like last year with the winner of the latter matchup facing Gunter again with a trip to the 3A DII State Title game on the line.

Childress will be great again this year and return 15 starters and will be led by Collin Bishop who had 3,000 yards passing and over 1,000 yards rushing last season. Even with all that, I’m still picking Canadian to get out of Region One and have a rematch with Franklin in the title game at Jerry’s World. Can’t pick against greatness. And we all know that’s what Canadian is, and always has been. Unrivaled!
