ABERNATHY VS WELLINGTON HIGHLIGHT THE TOP 10 GAMES TO SEE IN 806 FOOTBALL FOR 2019

Football is just about here and we all have been waiting for some great action this fall! We have multiple big time players, teams, new coaches, new contenders and more for this year's edition of 806 football! Here are ten games that are must-see to me for this season; preferably live in the stands!

#1 ABERNATHY VS WELLINGTON: 9/13- 7:30PM ABERNATHY, TX

What a game this will be in week three of the season! One of the best stadiums to play at in Abernathy with Division One players on both sides of the ball with Bryson Daily from the Antelopes and John Holcomb from Wellington, who has committed to Texas Tech for 2020. Jess Hoel enters the fray as well for Abernathy and will have a major impact for Daily's offense and defense. Are we watching the 3A DII and 2A DII state title contenders? We will find out soon. Great scheduling by both teams as they will have their teams ready for their district races with games like this!

2020 North Texas TB Commit, Isaiah Johnson

#2 LUBBOCK-COOPER VS CORONADO: 9/6- 7:30PM WOODROW, TX

Can last year's double-overtime game possibly be topped? Probably not, but this contest still will be great! DI players all over they field for both teams as Lubbock-Cooper has the #1 ranked linebacker in the nation in 2022 with Kobie McKinzie along with Nehemiah, Ayden, Isaiah, Cameron and one soon to be offered in Ben. Coronado has the #2 Pro-Stlye QB in the Nation in Sawyer Roberston along with Izaiah, Erik, Trey and more. This game will be high-flying and electric. Which defense will be able to get a few stops? That, in my opinion, will determine the winner.

TASCOSA 2022 RB, Major Everhart

#3 TASCOSA VS AMARILLO: 9/6 7:30PM AMARILLO, TX

The Rebels made history last season with a trip to the state semifinals in 6A DII and almost came back to beat the eventual champions from Longivew. Now, with all that being said, Amarillo still beat them last year! Hell week, tradition, pride, and over 15,000 fans.. This game will be fun! 2020 Texas Tech commit, LB Moore is back along with Joseph Plunk for the Rebels. Amarillo will counter with Davin Lemmons and players like Will Maynard that will make plays as well! Get your popcorn ready!

Frenship Sr. QB, Donovan Smith (Jason Pearson)

#4 FRENSHIP VS LUBBOCK-COOPER: 9/13 7:00PM WOLFFORTH, TX

This game is quickly becoming the rivalry in the 806 as it is gaining ground on Monterey vs Coronado's great games. Speaking of great games, will we have one this season between the two? Lubbock-Cooper has really dominated the last three contests and look to do it again in a couple of weeks. Texas Tech 2020 QB Commit Donovan Smith is now QB 1 for the Tigers and he is very good! The Pirates are very good too. Can't wait to see this game kick off!

#5 BUSHLAND VS SHALLOWATER 10/25 7:30 PM SHALLOWATER, TX

Shallowater vs Bushland will be for the 2-3A DI title. Shallowater's Cutter Sparks scored six total touchdowns last year in their matchup and secured a title for the Mustangs in 2018. This season, Bushland will look to take the title and make a deep run in the playoffs as well. Coach Thomas is a heck of a coach and the staff is incredible. Bushland is known for deep runs, and I feel another one coming this season.

#6 NEW DEAL AT SUNDOWN: 11/8 7:30 PM SUNDOWN, TX

Now...This is a big game! Last year, both teams were ranked in the top 10 in 2A and New Deal blitzed the Roughnecks in a 61-19 rout on their way to a trip to the State Title game. The Lions lost a lot, including 5 next-level players, and Sundown didn't lose too much. Christian Huey and Gus Davis will both lead Sundown this fall and the expectations are high again for the 'Necks. But, they will have to get by New Deal in order to realize their goals.

Gruver's Jalin Conyers: Class of 2020 Oklahoma Commit

#7 STRATFORD VS GRUVER: 11/8 7:30 PM STRATFORD, TX

Both of these teams could play for and win a state title in 2A DII. Iuden Romero is a fierce tailback for Stratford and they are very experienced this season with a plethora of starters in the fold. Gruver lost almost all of their state title game team from last season but return the best player in West Texas in Jalin Conyers. Stratford may have the edge this season, but who knows where these teams will end up when it's all said and done!

Tyrin Bradley on a hand-off to Trenton White

#8 CORONADO VS MONTEREY: 10/18 7:30PM LUBBOCK, TX

This is the best rivalry so far in Lubbock, and this game will be a thriller again just like last year's game where Coronado scored 21-unanswered points in the last eight minutes of the fourth quarter to beat Monterey, 34-33. Monterey and Coronado both have a shot to make a deep run again this season and this game could determine their paths to their goals. A "lituation" is near....

#9 NEW DEAL VS POST

#10 TASCOSA VS HANNA

What games did you guys think should've been on the list??
