806 HSSC 2021 TWO-A-DAYS TOUR WEEK TWO RECAP! WHAT TEAMS AND PLAYERS STOOD OUT??

My second week of the 806 Hssc 2021 Two-A-days tour kicked off on Monday, August 9th with a trip to Oklahoma and ended in River Road at the Home of the Wildcats, but I also checked out some scrimmages as well! Here is my recap of. the tour and the players and places that stuck out to me!

MONDAY, AUG 9TH:

STOP 1: TYRONE, OKLAHOMA

I was on the road at 4:00 AM in the morning on the way to. Tyrone, Oklahoma for a photoshoot with the Tyrone Bulldogs, A 1A school that won the State Championship inn football and were the semifinalist in the Boys' basketball playoffs! One player that stood out to me was Roberto hernandez; a 6' foot 5" 200 pound cornerback for the football team and the 2nd-ranked guard in small school basketball in Oklahoma! a He was Great young man that I will help out in the future.

STOP 23 WEST TEXAS COMANCHES

I stopped in at West Texas High School and checked out the Comanches' practice. I was happily surprised to see Coach Ramos there as he took the job in the summer after leaving Tulia's Hornets. West Texas lost a lot, but they will definitely be competitive in a very tough district with teams like Panhandle, Olton and more in there with them. Their offense was crisp in the heat; I was thoroughly impressed.

STOP 24: PANHANDLE PANTHERS

Panhandle was out there in the heat having a great practice as well! Coach Dane wasn't playing around as he was centering in on details and toughness: something that the Panthers are known for around these parts. Landyn Hack was spinning it around and looking very sharp throughout the practice and their defense was flying around and put on a show during their " nutcracker" session!

STOP 25: SPEARMAN LYNX

The first thing that stood out to me when I got there was their turf; their cool turf with the blue pellets in it! It was worth what they paid for it; which was a lot, from what I was told! the Lynx also upgraded all of their facilities too! Brenen Thompson, of course was sharp out there as he is now taking more of an active leadership role in his Senior season that will be full of great happenings; from. his commitment to a prestigious college, to the Lynx making a deep run in the playoffs. Brayden Klafka was very shifty and looked great as well during a spirited practice. The UV heat index was so high that when I was there, they couldn't practice in pads. So, a couple of move-ins getting their feet wet and some chemistry issues aside, Spearman will be ready to make some noise and hopefully be one of the last teams standing in the gauntlet of 3A DII!

Here is some exclusive video of National Recruit Brenen Thompson out at practice Monday!

TUESDAY, AUG 10TH:

STOP 27: SHALLOWATER MUSTANGS

Shallowater's football team lost Coach wood to Burnet High School this fall, but gained a great coach in Coach Vincent! Also, the Mustangs hit a grand slam with the Hire of Coach Brad Davis for the offense! The offense looked loaded and had a bunch of depth at every position! I would not be surprised if Shallowater makes another. deep run in the playoffs this season. I remember watching one play where the quarterback made a great pass to the receiver and the players were all cheering in excitement. I turned over and saw Coach Davis telling the quarterback to get rid of the ball faster. That attention to detail will be the reason the Mustangs won't have a drop-off at all!

STOP 28: BUSHLAND FALCONS

Bushland's Falcons are ALWAYS good! Coach Reynolds inherited a great program and has kept the standards up, coming into his second year at the head coach. The Falcons can fly, but they were running a lot when I was there at practice as the coaches wanted to make sure the Falcons didn't forget the little things that can win, or lose you a football game! Here is some exclusive video from their practice!

STOP 29: TASCOSA REBELS

It's always great to see Tascosa and the Rebels led by Coach Ken Plunk. This year should be special as I think the Rebesls can make a serious run at a title. Coach Plunk believes that and also stated that they had a championship team last year, in his opinion, but that the Coronado loss knocked them off-kilter a little bit and they didn't recover after that game. Avion Carter, Major Everhart, Tayden Barnes, L'Travion Brown, Keevin Ledoux and others looked solid at their practice and they will look continue their greatness this fall!

STOP 30: AMARILLO SANDIES

Coach Chad Dunnam's team is young, but very good at their key positions this fall. Erik Gray, who holds 12 division one offers, was sharp at practice and was very vocal in leading his team during the afternoon session. Brock Wade was very impressive at the quarterback spot for Amarillo! I really expect him to have a great season and he has a plethora of weapons at his disposal!

STOP 31: HIGHLAND PARK HORNETS

Coach Wilson and the Hornets were flying around at their night practice that started at 7:00pm! Adryan Rodriguez looked very fast through the holes opened by his line and they had some good numbers out at practice for a 3A DII School! The Hornets will contend with Tulia, Friona and Dimmitt for the final playoff spot in their district.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 11TH

STOP 32: LUBBOCK-COOPER PIRATES

Lubbock-Cooper knows the goal: win a title this season under Coach Chip Darden. Their defense is serious with two huge defensive players in Kobie McKinzie and Kyler Jordan returning for the Senior Campaigns. What a lot of people are going to be shocked by is their running game with Kaleb Stripling and their line, led by Tulsa 2022 commit, Tanyon Zachary. I have all the confidence in the world in QB 1, Holt Gibson, and the Pirates will be a dangerous team once again this fall that will play late into December!

STOP 33: FRENSHIP TIGERS

Frenship has a great offensive line returning, maybe the best line Coach Northcutt has had in his tenure with the Tigers. Isaiah Kema, who was recently upgraded to a 4-star recruit and Houston Commit, Karson Jones will anchor a huge front that will get some holes open for whoever is back there at tailback. The Tigers play in one of the toughest districts in Texas in 2-6 but they will be ready! I Expect Chad Pharies to have a great season at quarterback for the Tigers as well in his Senior season.

THURSDAY AUGUST 12TH

STOP 34 RANDALL RAIDERS

I was up on the road at 4AM again on Thursday, this time on the way to Randall High School who had their practice at 6:00 AM! Coach Selman led an intense practice and has a ton of weapons returning for the Raiders. When I interviewed Coach Selman, he expressed to me that he knew how tough the district was, but his team will be battle-tested and ready for 3-5A DII.

STOP 35: RIVER ROAD WILDCATS

On my last stop of my 2021 two-a-days tour, I made it to River Road to check out the Wildcats! Coach Welps and I discussed his team and he has a fire about him that he has always had as a coach! Tate Upchurh is a huge and shifty offensive lineman that will have a great Senior Season with River Road. Brown will also do well at the tailback position and should push for 1,000 yards on the ground! The "Road" will make the playoffs in a tough district and when you get in the dance, anything can happen!
