THE POSTSEASON REGIONAL ROUND OUTLOOK: HERE’S HOW EVERY 806 TEAM CAN WIN…

If you look at the slate of games from 5A to 2A we are the underdog in every one of the games except Post vs Abernathy, which happens to be 806 against 806 for the 2A DI Regional title. Some teams will be taking the field against state-title winners, runner-ups and squads that are “supposed” to be better than us. So, with that being mentioned, let’s look at every game coming after Thanksgiving and give our keys to victory for each one. SEAGRAVES VS ROSCOE Seagraves will have to stop…

ALL OF A SUDDEN.. 1-4A DI’S TITLE RACE JUST GOT INTERESTING…

At the start of the summer I thought this would be a race between Pampa and Levelland for first place with Estacado and Borger bringing up the rear. Now a week before the district starts to play each other it is wide open with Estacado looking to take it away from the other teams in 1-4A DI. Chances are the district will still be decided by the Levelland vs Pampa winner in the final week of the season, but what If the Matadors beat the Lobos on October 14th? What…

MATADOR MASH: ESTACADO WINS THIRD STRAIGHT GAME IN BLOWOUT FASHION

In a game that we thought would be close due to the memorable match-ups the Estacado Matadors and the Shallowater Mustangs have had in the last few years, this one wasn’t even close after the first quarter. The Matadors made some key plays in the first stanza on defense, including a 92-yard fumble return touchdown and blew out the Shallowater Mustangs, 63-7 on Thursday night. In the first, the Matadors struck quickly with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Bo Sims to “Quavy” Nathan to take a 7-0 lead over Shallowater.…

NICK GERBER IS ON HIS WAY TO HISTORY…AND A DIVISION ONE OFFER…TOO….

When I was doing my top players returning in the 806 for football, it was obvious that Nick Gerber would be ranked number one. I thought so due to his work-ethic,  his determination and flat-out super skill set. 6’2″, 180 pounds, runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and very smart as he has a 3.5 GPA average so he knows coverages, schemes, and where everyone will be including the defense. All those traits have come to harvest in his Senior season as he is 95-139, 1646 yards, 30 touchdowns and only…

So, with that said, here is the top game from every week in the regular season that an avid fan should go see.   WEEK 1 LEVELLAND VS MULESHOE AUG 26TH 7:30PM, LOBO STADIUM, LEVELLAND…
